While there are some who have been exposed to harmful chemicals through work and living environments or chemical induced hair colouring.

While it is difficult to trace back your personal reason, you can still have a personal favourite remedy from a number of them. All of them are focused on mitigating different causes of hair loss and removing obstacles to healthy hair growth. Not every hair growth treatment requires going to a clinic or using expensive products every day. There are some remedies that can help grow back hair lost from general stress or carelessness and don’t require you to step out of your bedroom. Here are some of the hair growth tips and home remedies that will help you get your lost tresses back-

1. Coconut oil massage
The scalp has hair follicles and roots which are also connected to the blood vessels lying below. Sometimes, due to stress or incomplete nutrition to the scalp, the blood vessels get blocked from providing internal nutrition to the scalp. This causes the scalp to age faster and leads to hair fall. Scalp massages are essential to ensure a regular stimulation to the hair follicles and blood vessels on the scalp. Adding a bit of nutritious oil to the mix can work wonders. Coconut oil is the most popular of all oils that can be used for at home hair growth treatment. It has quantities of lauric acid which get absorbed right into the hair strands and follicles. Lauric acid prevents breakage and makes the follicles strong. Take half a teaspoon of coconut oil in a bowl, dip your fingers in it and massage your scalp gently and keep massaging till you use up all the oil in the bowl. It is better to do this at night so you can shampoo your hair in the morning, this can be done every third day. Just don’t forget the shower cap!

2. Ginger essential oil
Not a lot of people know this, but a solution with just a hint of ginger can be an effective hair growth treatment. Ginger has minerals, vitamins and fatty acids which improve circulation in the scalp and stimulates every hair follicle. It supports healthy hair by strengthening hair roots and preventing loss of moisture from the scalp. You don’t need to go shopping for ginger essential oil, you can easily make some at home if you have ginger in your fridge. Mix a teaspoon full of coconut, argan and castor oil, add half a teaspoon of onion juice to the mixture. Now add just two tiny drops of lavender essential oil, it will relieve stress and provide a favourable smell. Now grate half an inch of ginger and add half a teaspoon of the juice to your mixture. Apply this mixture on your scalp and put a shower cap on for at least 45 minutes. You can then shampoo your hair to remove the mixture.

3. Green tea
You don’t exactly have to increase your green tea consumption, although it is still better to drink it everyday. What you have to do instead is apply it on your hair. Green has a high concentration of antioxidants, vitamin B, vitamin C and theanine which slow down the ageing process in the body. Green tea fights oxidative stress and the free radicals because of which the skin and scalp get loose and become lacklustre. Applying green tea on your scalp will prevent it from rapid oxidation and drying up. Vitamin B in green tea is in the form of panthenol , which prevents the hair and scalp from losing moisture, thus helping with dandruff and frizzy hair. Tear up a bag of green tea and empty it into a cup of boiling water. Boil it for 2-3 minutes and then let it cool down till it’s slightly lukewarm. Strain out the leaves from the water and pour the water on your head. Let the hair be drenched for 15 to 20 minutes and then wash your hair with cool water.

4. Apple cider vinegar
Did you know that even the scalp can become alkaline? Yes, sometimes due to pollutants or unhealthy hair colour and sprays, the hair and scalp can become alkaline. Unlike the rest of the body, the surface of the scalp needs to be acidic. Alkaline content keeps the nutrition from reaching the scalp and also creates a lot of dandruff. Hair loss then becomes uncontrollable because any oil or serum is blocked from reaching the hair follicles. Apple cider vinegar is an excellent detoxifier for the scalp. It increases acidity and balances the pH level of the scalp. Apple cider vinegar also has antimicrobial properties which keep away fungal and bacterial issues at bay, thus preventing itchy scalp, which is a major cause of hair loss. Right after you shampoo your hair, mix a bottle cap of apple cider vinegar to a mug of water and pour it all over your scalp. Let it stay for at least 7-8 minutes and then rinse it off.
